She is the daughter of John George Basteane AGER and Rosina BLISS.
Mary Ann AGER had a child while spinster. A boy named Herbert Storer
AGER was born on November 15th 1880 at Deptford, Greenwich,
London, England.
Then she met Sampson Cyprus
COCKS who will marry her on October 10th 1886 at Greenwich.
The family story is that Sampson adopted Mary Ann
AGER’s son.
I have no proof of that fact.
During their marriage, they had only one son Josiah COCKS
who was born on August 26th 1887 also at Greenwich, London, England.
Mary Ann AGER is in the British census for the years
1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901.
Something was going wrong in England in 1908, during
the Olympics Games or maybe Mary Ann and Sampson with their son only wanted to
make some change in theirs lives that they moved to Canada. The departure from Liverpool was the
June 25th 1908 on the Dominion Ship. During the trip, Mary Ann developed an intestinal
occlusion. She died on June 29th. She had burial at Sea. Then father and son arrived at the Port
of Quebec on July 4th 1908 to begin a new life.
