Short biography of
Henry Gordon BLISS
We
don’t know much about Henry Gordon BLISS.
He
got married with Mary Ann ARCHBUTT on December 2nd 1811 at Old
Church St Pancreas, London, England.
No
place or date of birth. No place
or date of death. No parents
mentioned.
It
is the same thing with his wife Mary Ann ARCHBUTT no
birth, no death and no parents mentioned.
In
accordance with the LDS, they had at least four children :
Mary Ann BLISS,
baptized on 3 May 1812, At St Martin in the Fields, London
Maria BLISS and Sarah Elizabeth BLISS baptized on 13 april 1817, at St Martin in the
Fields, London
George BLISS, baptized on 19 November 1819, at St George's Southwark.
There is another child
that must be theirs :
Rosina BLISS
(daughter of Henry Gordon BLISS) married John George Basteane AGER on May 8th
1854 at All Souls, St Marylebone, London, England. (according to the marriage
certificate).
Rosina was born around
1825 in Lambeth, London, England.
The only Henry Gordon
BLISS that could be found is the one married to M.A. ARCHBUTT.
There is also another
fact that let us believe that Henry G. is the father of Rosina. John and Rosina AGER had a son named
Henry Gordon AGER born around 1859 in the county of Kent. At this time, Rosina’s father is
already dead even before her marriage.
I suppose that John and Rosina named their son after his maternal
grand-father.
I
am still investigating this family.
