Very short
biography of Charles COCKS and his wife Susan/nah
Charles COCKS was born around 1789. This information came from his age at death.
I don’t know his
parents names. That information would have been on his marriage certificate,
but it is still to be found.
Charles was buried on
October 9th 1827 at Steeple Bumpstead, Essex, England. He was 38 years old.
His wife was
Susan/nah. Her last name is not
known for the moment. I am
expecting some documents from Essex Record Office. I hope some of them will give me more information.
The work of Charles was
labourer according to the parish register for his son Josiah baptism.
Charles COCKS and
Susan/nah had at least two children.
Josiah
who was baptized on April 13th 1823 and Mary Ann baptized on September 23rd 1825 both at
Steeple Bumpstead.
In 1831, at the time of
the British Census, Susan is a widow with two kids.
Susan got married with a
widow name George WILLIS on October 11th 1834 at Steeple Bumpstead,
Essex, England.
The marriage didn’t
last very long as Susan WILLIS died and was buried on April 27th
1835 at Steeple Bumpstead, Essex, England. We do not know at what age she died.
I am still investigating
this family.
