1st Day of February 1791
Appeared personnaly George Whips and made Oath that he is of the Parish of Roxwell in the county of Essex aged upwards of twenty one years batchelor and intendeth to marry with Jane Fitch of the Parish of Birdbrook aged upwards of Twenty one years spinster
and that he knoweth of no lawful impediment, by reason of any pre-contract, entered into before the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand seven hundred and fifty-four, consanguinity, affinity, or any other lawful means whatsoever, to hinder the said intend marriage, ... prayed a Licence to solemnize the same in the Parish Church of Birdbrook aforesaid, in which said Parish she has had her usual place of abode for the space of four weeks last past

Know all men by these presents that Mr George Whips of Roxwell in the county of Essex labourer & George Jarvis of Birdbrook in the said county farmer are held and firmly bound to the Worshipful John Nichol Doctor of laws official in and throughout the Archdeaconry of Middlesex lawfully appointed in one hundred pounds of lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to the said official or his certain Attorney executors administrators of assigns for the true payment where of the bind ourselves and each of us by himself for the whole and every part there of and the heirs executors and administrators of us and each of no firmly by these presents sealed with our seals dated this first day of February in the This first year of the Reign of our Sovareign Lord George The Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King defend of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety
The condition of this obligation is such that if hereafter there shall not appear any lawful let or Impediment by reason of any precontract intered into before the twenty fifth day of March one thousand seven hundred and fifty four consanguinity affinity or any other lawfull means whatsoever but that the above bounder George Whips Batchelor & Jane Fitch spinster
may lawfully solemnize Marriage together and in the same afterwards lawfully ..... and continue for Man and Wife according to the laws in that behalf provided or mor..... if the... benst at this present time any action suit plaint quarrel or demand moved or depending before any judge ecclesiastical of temporal for or conce..ting any suth lawfull impediment between the said parties nor that either of them be of any other parish or of better estate or degree than the judge at granting of the licence is suggested and by him sworn to
and lastly if the same marriage shall be openly solemnized in the Church of Chapel in the Licence specified between in the hours appointed in the Constitutions Ecclesiastical confirmed and according to the form of the Book of Common pray... by law established and if the above bounden George Whips & George Jarvis do save harmfefs the said official his surrogates and others his officers whatsoever by reason of the permits then this obligation to be void or else to remain in full force and virtue.
