My father died when I was young so I didn't made trips like lots of kids on the east coast of USA or in Florida with their family when they where young.

My first travels where Betwen Montreal and Gatineau in trains since we never had a car after my father death. It's only much later that I started to hitch-hike across Quebec and later the rest of Canada.

My first trip outside Canada by plane happened when i worked at James Bay hydro electric project in the far north of province of Quebec. For the first time I had financial means and time. When you work at James Bay you can't easely take some vacation in the summer since it's the busyest time of the year and I always reserved my summer vacation for the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Also, when you have both feet in the snow since the end of september till the midle of may (some patch of snow in the shadow remaining untill mid june), when it's time to take vacation in the winter a hot sand beach get much appeal. That's why my trips outside Canada have been in the south while I worked in the north.

I always have a camera with me when I travel, I may take a 36 pose film per day and I keep only the best of them after. In the following page i will try to show you some of the best i made and make you feel a bit of what I experienced in thoses trip. The whole is classified by regions and not chronogically, that way I can mix photos of different travels.

I was born in Montreal and still live there. Why do I include the city where I live in a travel section?

Simply because I like Montreal and that it can be a travel destination for some peoples reading this page. Also, when I'm taking pictures, I have to place myself in the flesh of somone who is discovering this town for the first time, to see it in a new perspective.
