Religion

I am afraid I maybe preaching in the wilderness !

Judaism

When Jesus appeared on the scene, had the ESTABLISHMENT of the day listened to
his discourse, about extending judaism to all; all christians would be jews today.
The establishment did what all establishments do everywhere; it stuck with the
STATUS QUO.
Quand Jésus est apparu sur la scène; si l'ESTABLISHMENT du jour avait écouté son discours;
concernant l'ouverture de leur religion à tous; peut être serions nous, chrétiens, tous juifs
aujourd'hui. L'establishment a fait ce que tous les pouvoirs établis font, il a choisi le
STATUS QUO.

The Bible - Psalms 31-9,13

Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am in distress;
My eye is wasted away from grief, my soul and my body also.
For my life is spent with sorrow,
And my years with sighing;
My strength has failed because of my iniquity,
And my body has wasted away.
Because of all my adversaries, I have become a reproach to my neighbours,
And an object of dread to my acquaintances;
Those who see me in the street flee from me.
I am forgotten as a dead man, out of mind, I am like a broken vessel.
For I have heard the SLANDER of many, terror is on every side;
while they took counsel together against me,
they schemed to take away my life.

The Bible - Corinthians 1,13

If I speak with the tongue of men and of angels, but do not have love,
I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge;
and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love,
I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor,
and if I deliver my body to be burned, but do not have love,
it profits me nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;
love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;
it does not seek its own, is not provoked,
it does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness,
but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away;
If there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away
for we know in part, and we prophesy in part;
but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child;
when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part,
but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known.
But now abide FAITH, HOPE, LOVE, these three;
but the greatest of these is LOVE.

The magazine 'Sufi'

An individual approached the master and asked him to authorize him to invite others to GOD.
"Watch out!"
the master warned.
"See that you don't invite people to yourself!".
"O Master,"
said the individual,
"how could I invite others to myself?"
The master replied
"If you invite others and are not yourself in a balanced state, you'll be inviting them to yourself".

The Coran

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever merciful.
I seek refuge with the Lord of Men, the King of Men,
From the evil of him, who breathes temptations into the minds of men,
Who suggests evil thoughts to the hearts of men,
From among the Djinns and Men.

A corollary of the above quote.

I came across a science-fiction book recently, written by John Brunner, in 1968
(Stand on Zanzibar). In it, he makes reference to a person, who for no apparent
reason, goes out and kills a bunch of people.

In the world that his book describes, between 2000 and 2010, that type of person
is referred to as a mucker, from amok (running amok).
That person can be a child, a teenager, or an adult.

John Brunner's quote in the book:

You can survive a mugger, but if you want to survive a mucker, the best way is
not to be there when it happens. That is, do not be at the wrong place, at the
wrong time; it is all about timing.

Given the events of the late nineties and early 21st century, where pre-teens, teen-agers, and
adults became muckers; the question I have been asking myself is :
Is it possible to induce psychosis in someone ?
The obvious answer is YES !

For possible ways of creating a mucker, see Coran quote.
and Inducing Psychosis.

Weak minded people/Personnes à l'ésprit faible.

The governor of Minnessota was interviewed recently, and according to him
religion is for weak minded people. His opinion was echoed by the commentator
on the late-night T.V. show, "Politically Incorrect".

My response to them is simply that they ignore their own humanity by saying that.
The question that I would like to ask them is the following:

 Why is it, that in the smallest tribe, (small in numbers), there always
was a need to designate someone as the titular religious leader, usually
referred to as a shaman, or witch doctor. If there was no one to be chosen,
then the responsibility usually went to the elders of the tribe, as some kind
of spiritual counselors.

If they have an answer that goes beyond,
Oh ! they just wanted to explain the unexplainable.
I'll be ready to listen.

Man did not put the idea of God in his own head.

Oh ! ils avaient juste besoin d'expliquer l'inexplicable.
Je serais prêt a les écouter.

L'Homme n'a pas mis l'idée de Dieu dans sa propre tête.
