Notes:
- Continuous presence of Protestants 1632-1685
- When French came back to New-France in 1632, we know that
even if the company chart forbid Huguenots to immigrate,
many came to New-France. The trade with the colony
depends largely on the merchants of La Rochelle and many
are Huguenots. They will came annually in New-France and
will maintain clerks for their trade, mainly in Quebec
city.
- Other Huguenots will settle in the colony, their number
was sufficient to have the Vatican authorities to
intervene to the French administration. They insist that
no Huguenots should settle in Canada.
