The texts presented here constitute my reading notes. I thought they could be useful to students of history of collecting and that is why I publish them here. Of course, it will always be better to go back to the original text since my understanding or my interpretations can be erroneous. The numbers appearing at the beginning of the paragraphs refer to the corresponding page of the edition I used.
