Are cookies necessary ?
Generally speaking, cookies are not needed, unless you must intereact with a site..  Some bulletin boards do require cookies, to be able to recognize you and know which posts have been read so far.
There are Basically 3 methods to deal with cookies :
1. Don't allow your browser to accep them    
                                    

                            2. Make use of Host File.

                             Spyblocker already includes an extensive list of entries in the HostFile

3. Use Software, such as CookieWall.
