Once I started to read Jean-Louis Grosmaire's novel, Un clown en hiver, i could not put it down.... The writing has a strange poetic turn, which emphasizes the novels dreamlike nature...Grosmaire presents some very imaginative portraits ....

For all which concerns my papers, if it interests you, consult the section Livres "or make a search on the Web of Quebec to Grosmaire Jean-Louis.

I am not of the kind to tell my life.
I prefer to write, not to speak and still, when I write, I spend time crossing off the three-quarters of the text. The main part says to itself in so few words.

I am a mixture of several countries, been born in Ivory Coast ( Côte d'Ivoire ) of French parents, I lived my childhood in Germany and after in Saint Louis of Senegal, it was beautiful!
I hope to return on day in Saint-Louis.

I studied in France, in Franche-Comté and in Paris. For years now I live in Quebec, in Outaouais, just in front of Ottawa.

I feel of everywhere and from here. Everything interests me and I rarely have
seen somebody who did not deserve attention.

This is my letter to the President of United States of America,11/12/02

Letter to the President of the United States of America
Mister President,
" I am writing this letter that you might read, if you have time to do so ". While you pursue tyrants and throw the youth of your country into wars, a large part of humanity is dying. Can you hear the emaciated children cry plaintively? Can you see the agony of mothers who have Aids? Can you recognize your brothers in the cohort of beggars?
Mister President, you, the most powerful man of the planet, face the challenge of poverty fed by human's exploitation of humans. May truly united nations move forward and with the greatest courage towards fair societies, who respect all humans, fauna and flora. Let's offer the kids of the world and their parents Love and Respect. Let us refuse these horrible wars that shed blood all over the continents. The wild and frantic race to power and to quickly made profits lead us, inevitably, to the pillaging of our planet. Poverty destroys our societies. Can you hear the sufferings of humanity? Mister President, take a look outside your palace windows, misery starts right in your own streets.
The human adventure requires more than words. Concrete actions can give back to man, wherever he may be, his own dignity. Respecting our cultures and beliefs, let's put all our energy together in fighting the unacceptable misery of our brothers and sisters. Mister President, you have to seize the moment. You have the chance to put mankind on the path of peace. Don't lose that opportunity. Poverty, illiteracy, starvation, diseases, slavery and tortures, here are the challenges you need to address with The United Nations. Mister President, orient mankind towards higher future. This is not utopian, it is urgent. Our sisters and brothers are suffering and dying every moment in the greatest indifference. Can you hear them crying?
For those who can't write, who have no paper, no pencils, no bread, no rice, no water, no roof; for those who are sick, exhausted, tortured, for those who'll become collateral victims, for the dying, those who can't voice their concerns, those who have no home, no love, no respect; for the joyless kids, who have no toys, no vital energy; for the tired, wounded and destroyed mothers; for the overwhelmed men who are exploited and broken, for all of them, sisters and brothers of all ages, I ask you to take action at once.
Yours truly,
Jean-Louis Grosmaire
