Blanket with red and white stripes

Size:

24 1/2 X 24 1/2 inches

Materials:

Sport baby yarn, 200 gr of white and 50 gr of red or a contrast color
Crochet hook 5.00 mm

Instructions:

Chain 90 stitches.

Row 1: In 4th ch from crochet, "* pass yarn over hook, draw up a loop, pass yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops * repeat * to * 2 more times in the same ch, pass yarn over hook and draw through all loops on hook (4 loops), 1 ch, skip 1 ch", repeat " to " (43 groups) and finish by 1dc on last ch.

Row 2: Chain 1 to turn, make sc on 1st dc and continue on chain and on group and finish by 1 sc on the 1st chain of beginning.

Row 3: Chain 3 to turn, skip 1 sc,"* pass yarn over hook, draw up a loop, pass yarn over hook and draw through 2 loops * repeat * to * 2 more times in the same sc, pass yarn over hook and draw through all loops on hook ( 4 loops), 1 ch, skip 1 sc", repeat " to ", finish by 1 dc on last sc. (43 groups, make sure to have groups in straight line over the others groups.)

Row 4: Chain 1 to turn, 1 sc on 1st dc and continue with sc on ch and on groups and finish by 1 sc in 3rd chain of beginning.

Repeat row 3 and row 4.

Make this 2 rows, * 5 times in white and 1 time in red*. Repeat * to * 3 times more and finish by 5 times in white.

Make the edge of blanket with red color. Make 1 row in sc. After, make 1 row with "picot" like that : * 4 sc, chain 3 and 1 sc in same last sc * all around the blanket. (You may have to space some sc to keep the edge straight)
