Here's my belated review of the video "Playboy's Girls Next Door: Naughty and Nice."

Featured Playmates: Elisa Bridges, Daphnee Duplaix, Karen McDougal, Kelly Monaco, Kalin Olson, Stacy Sanches, Shauna Sand and Carrie Stevens

NSS models: Bethany [Lorraine] Hartford

The Trikilis/Hunt/Allen production team found a new narrator for this generally well-made video. The old oft Shakespeare-quoting fellow was fine but the new flippant-toned narrator is a welcome change for variety's sake if nothing else. And the narrator gets to earn his keep in each segment with a comparatively elaborate story line and even a summary epilog at the end of the video.

Each segment has a two or three-part format; a prelude introducing our hero and one or two lovelies living [or working] nearby; a body featuring, well, bodies; and maybe a postlude in conclusion. [I resisted the temptation to make a play on the word, "prelewd"... :-) ] The style, music, pace, and tone often change dramatically between parts.

As usual, the number in parentheses is the approximate start time of the segment, in minutes. To avoid confusion, I will use the models names rather than those assigned by the storyline, except where noted.

(01) Title: Suburbanite Bethany collects her morning paper in the buff. The rest of the title footage is taken from the various Playmate video profiles. A closeup of Karen is particularly striking and Kalin, while not a smiley girl, makes a wedge of watermelon look mouthwatering.

(04) Study Date: Bethany and boyfriend decide to study calculus and "chemistry" in the kitchen while Mom and Dad run an errand. Books, milk, and cookies accept tertiary priority in favor of some serious hands-on "study." Soon doffed plaid skirt and curly long blonde hair make Bethany the quintessential girl next door. Her perhaps artifically perky breasts do appear to make a pleasant double handfull. The frolic literally spills in and into the living room. Director Allen appears willing to go pinker with Bethany than the more revered Playmates. Mom and Dad's imminent return force the disarray to be rearrayed. Dad turns a blind eye toward the hours warm and untouched milk.

(11) That's Amore: Elisa Bridges plays the misunderstood daughter of one of a pair of feuding and adjacent restauranteurs. In this "Romeo and Julie" story, Elisa's magnificent brown eyes find those of the son of her father's archrival. Daytime and business provide no opportunity for tryst but night is another matter. In an otherwise untenanted kitchen hero and heroine indulge in a variety of Italian cuisine. Like an onion, Elisa peels off her short skintight red dress to reveal an even shorter skintight red undergarment which in turn receives the same application. Elisa's tanlines are softer and her legs are as slender as before but her pointed breasts hint at increased mass without artificiality. Elisa's kisses are very chaste but her eyes are sincere and intense. She seems to have lost her sly little smirk somewhere, holding her mouth somewhat woodenly. Dim backlighting creates shadows suitable to the mood but obscuring Elisa's form in silhoette. Unlike Shakespeare, the epilog has our couple living happily ever after, running a catering company.

(20) Afternoon Delight: Kalin starts our story snapping beans and drinking lemonade on the porch of an old farm house, late in the summer. Old friend, Kelly stops by for a visit from a nearby farm. Kelly's walk has made her perspire just enough to give her sundress a delightful cling; gosh she's not wearing anything underneath! Our friendly hero arrives by bicycle and suggests walking down to the old pond for a picnic. The pond features a dock, a tireswing, and a giant innertube; all of which are made playful use of. Food is largely forgotten as both girls "skirtflirt," doff, and pose on the dock. Kelly has the toothier grin while Kalin has the more striking eyes. Our hero [and viewer] are enamored of both. A skinnydip follows and then, oh yes, the picnic basket. The afternoon frolic and walk back leave our players simultaneously tired and refreshed.

(27) Virtual Girl: CyberDude logs into a semi-hypothetical Playboy website and chooses a favorite from a menu of Playmates. Clad in black unitard and thigh-high boots, Shauna leads us on a virtual tour of a dimly lit mansion [THE Mansion??] "Virtual Rubdown?" the screen prompts. Shauna mostly just poses and rubs *herself* with a bit of oil, what kind of rubdown did you expect? Shauna does contend for the award of Most Footage Recorded Without a Smile. However CyberGirls do feel pain, as Shauna flinches from a drop of too hot oil.

(34) Summer Job: A garage mechanic prematurely bemoans having to mentor the boss' kid for the summer, that is until he sees just how fine Stacy looks. The prelude is especially long and pleasant as Stacy changes from short skirt to sweatshirt, cutoff white overalls, and ponytail [my kind of girl!] The prelude continues as a very smiley and animated Stacy assists in various auto repairs including rebuilding a water pump. Work done, burger for lunch, time to frolic. Dark blue lingerie accents Stacy's oft-noted beauty [marks.] The body of this segment is a bit too strobe-like, as if we've seen Stacy before [as we have] and only need hints and glimpses. A bit of backseat posing and the Mercury convertible is off for a test drive, to conclude.

(41) Picture This: Carrie stops for groceries on her way home from work. Feeling safe at home, our heroine decides to strip for a sponge bath before dinner in front of an open window, unaware that our hero is not only voyeuristically watching but taking photos as well. Black lingerie and choker contrast with blemishless creamy skin. The camera follows the sponge over more than ample curves yet seems to avoid the subject's face. Red-brown hair cascades pleasantly as Carrie dons silken night clothes before a bit of mattress-top stretching. The show over, our naughty hero hastily drops off the film for overnight processing, never guessing who the photo clerk will be the next morning. Will she forgive him?...

(49) Naughty Neighbors: Daphnee and Karen have a new video of their band, but darn, their VCR is broken! Maybe their stodgy but cute neighbor can help. Reluctantly, our hero, an aspiring architect with a project due, lets the ladies use the VCR in his living room on the condition they not bother him at his drafting table. Yeah right, what planet is this guy from? Quickly succombing to the music video, the devilish little scamps doff their clothes and engage in all kinds of playful mischief. If Playmates ran in packs, Daphnee would definitely be alpha-girl; drawing a 60-40 share of the camera time though Karen attracts in a noncommanding way. When our hero tries to reassert control a pillow fight ensues. With a sigh, our hero concedes the issue and breaks out the champagne. How will he ever explain the lipstick on his drafting plans?

(57) Epilog: The narrator briefly advances each storyline, bringing a bit of humor into this video.

(58) Credits:

In conclusion, I found this video pleasant enough to call a keeper. Kelly Monaco gained a few points by recovering from her lackluster VidCal performance. Daphnee is brassy while Kalin is on the quiet side. Karen sparkles in a subdued sort of way, nice dimples. As much as I like Star Trek, Shauna Sand was just a bit too Vulcan. Elisa Bridges has figured out what to do with her eyes but her mouth could be more expressive. And finally, veteran Stacy Sanches is very [re]watchable in her segment, especially her prelude, I'll name her the sweetheart of this video. [Could this be due to the overalls and ponytail? Nah, I'm not that predictable, am I?]

P.S. Speaking of predictability, I seem to have written a video review without one reference to our video goddess Rachel Jean Marteen... :-)

P.P.S. RJM recently remarked on my frequent contributions to "the fan club" by which I assume she meant either the PML or the CyberClub. Divinity does listen, in a filtered sort of way. Kind of a trickle up theory, perhaps?
