| PCI / HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: TC-320 Architecture:
Etienne Coutu Situated in a nice neighborhood, very close to the city-center in Pointe-St-Charles, this project uses a prefabricated concrete technology called TechCrete in order to make these 320 residential units, varying from one to three bedrooms, affordable to anyone. The concept makes every units crossing side-to-side, with adequate dimension for a family with children (1200 pc) while using a minimum of materials for the internal separations. We were four students from the University of Montreal who shared the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes of the Habitat for Humanity / Concrete Precast Institute competition in 2003. With Jean-Sébastian Maillhiot (1st), Sébastien Roy (2nd) and Steven Somogyi (3rd prize ex-æquo), under the governs of our professor Mr. Roger-Bruno Richard. |

PCI / HABITAT POUR L'HUMANITÉ: TC-320 Architecture:
Etienne Coutu Situé dans un quartier populaire, tout près du centre-ville à Pointe-St-Charles, ce projet utilise une technologie de béton préfabriqué appelé TechCrete afin de rendre ces 320 unités d'habitation, variant de une à trois chambres, abordables à tous. Le concept fait que chaque unité est traversante, de dimension adéquate pour une famille avec des enfants (100 m2) en utilisant un minimum de matériel pour les séparations intérieurs. Nous étions quatres étudiants de l'Université de Montréal qui se sont partagé les 1er, 2e et 3e prix ex-aequo au concours Habitat for Humanity / Precast Concrete Institute en 2003. Avec Jean-Sébastian Maillhiot (1er), Sébastien Roy (2e) et Steven Somogyi (3e prix ex-æquo), sous la gouverne de notre professeur M. Roger-Bruno Richard. |
