UTILITY!!
I can't even believe it-- nobody came up with something so intelligent and flexible before. Hokeysmokes. Are you the author, or was this just something you found out there? I am truly impressed, and I think other collectors oughta hear about this. This was a REAL help to me, and I appreciate your calling my attention to it. I dl'd it yesterday and finally got a moment or two to sit down with it this afternoon, so I'm still tripping about all the work this thing can save-- otherwise I'd write a more coherent letter. Just had to let you know I tried it, and WOW!
Thanks so much-- sock
First of all, thanks for the prompt reply mail with the registration info. Being a software developer myself, I could not help but be astonished by the cleverness and usability of the Autosort.
When I downloaded and tried Autosort, I tried some newsgroup downloads, tested the program and was amazed at the speed and accuracy of it.
Most of all, I am impressed with the usability and the simplicity of the user interface. I hope you won't mind me getting some ideas on how to use tree-view conrols in my own applications.

"I didn't expect AutoSort to be that great but it was so small I figured it was worth giving it a try. I am glad I did. It works great and is way faster than trying to do it yourself. It even recognized celebrities that I couldn't have guessed from the filename."

A post from Sockpuppet in the newsgroups...
THIS is *IT* as far as I'm concerned... An "AutoSort" utility, less than a meg to download, 2000-file trial period and 20 bucks to register if you want it. The author suggested it via email when we had that "please put names first, it's easier to classified" thread going, and I fell in love with the thing.
All you do is browse your way to a file full of unsorted snackies and run the thing; it only takes a few seconds, figuring out who the celeb in each pic is, based upon text-strings in the filename. It even suggests possibilities for the few it can't be certain of. Give it a destination directory, and in a flash, you have the whole nine yards all filed away in a directory of neat, individual folders (first or last name first) without having to rename anything or even get your hands dirty. Click, click and you're done.

Thanks to your excellent program, I now have 70,000 of my 80,000 celebrity pictures sorted, and I'm working along at the rest.

Hi there,
I just used your program for the first time, and my
initial reaction is:
"Fuckin' A!"
My download directory had gotten so full of crap downloaded
over time. That's the problem with big hard drives these days -- you can
make an even bigger mess. I wanted to go through, pick out the
keepers, and free up some disk space, but just waiting for ACDSee to read the
directory was depressing enough.
Your program is a TIMESAVER like few others.
I can't remember the last shareware program I registered, but
yours is money well spent. ...
Keep up the good work,
Eric
