OS/2 is the operating system supported by IBM. It has one of the best known graphical
user interface (GUI), is a real 32 bits, multitasking, multithreading and can run DOS/WIN32s
(Windows 3.x, 16 and 32 bits) applications and almost 12000 OS/2-native programs. A
project is currently at work (ODIN Project) to
enable Win9X/NT applications to run directly in OS/2. The office suite StarOffice (compatible
with the Microsoft Office suite) is given free of charge on this platform from
Sun Microsystems.
This system has an enhanced security and better stability if you compare it to Microsoft
