5. (Updated!)
- Note 1: The text of the assignment has been updated
slightly (typos removed, wording clarified). Check it out.
- Note 2: (April 27) to many of you: the homework
is now 1 week overdue. Reminder: you are supposed
to hand in a paper printout to me, in addition to emailing
the ZIP-ped package to the marker. I will also need a printout of
your data (input) file or files.
- Here is a partial
solution [ZIP] if you are still struggling with the input from
the prepared file. This version just reads the 15 or so items from
the input file, stores them in the inventory array then prints out
the inventory (as you too are required to do, but some forgot) to
the output file.
The rest of the processing is still your job.
- Note 3. on technique, program structure and style,
a reminder and an Updated
warning. Follow the link.

- Final Project
In addition to what is, and will be, discussed in class, please note the following:
- If you are interested in the "Tinkertoy Project", an inventory
of Tinkertoy parts can be seen in folder
T:\Tech_drawing\Tinkertoy on the College
network.
- Three sample "Tinkertoy" projects are available in my
office for you to look at or borrow.
- New! Here is a short set of
project guidelines originally written for the "Tinkertoy
Project", but just as applicable to other project choices. [MS-Word
document.]
- A hardcopy of the "Mechanical Pencil Assembly" shown in class
was placed on reserve in the College Library. (W2005)
- Important Note! As of Wednesday May
4, a number of people had not yet placed their files in the designated
"Project" folder on Drive T: on the College
network, inside the folder that has your name (where you were required
to leave your assignment files during the term). As discussed several
times in class, and clarified again on Monday May 3, these files are part
of your project. Without them the project is seriously incomplete and
will be marked accordingly.
On Friday May 6, 3pm I will make the final version of
the CD containing the T:/.../Tech_drawing/students folder,
which I will use during the evaluation of your projects.
Reminder for those who were absent in the last few classes: as per your
Course Outline/Plan D'Etudes, you are responsible for everything discussed
in class, whether or not you are present.
