Professor Fathi Habashi of Laval University in Quebec City, Canada was invited to give a plenary lecture at the Conference “Scientific Problems of Complex Processing of Mineral Resources” held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on October 11–13, 2000. At the end of his presentation, he was presented by a Kazakh Chief outfit by Dr. Bagdaulet Kenzhaievich Kenzhaliev, director of the Institute of Metallurgy and Ore Beneficiation of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference.
