Former champion seeks
to rediscover glory days with latest Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda 005
After four disappointing seasons since
joining B.A.R at the team's inception back in 1999, Jacques
Villeneuve now believes he finally has a car capable of
re-establishing him as a major championship contender.

"For the first time
we should be competitive," admitted the 31-year-old Canadian
who won the World Championship with Williams in 1997. "I've
never lost motivation and have always given my maximum but the past
four years have been hard. However, looking at the technical figures
and knowing Honda has done some promising work, I believe this car
will be a big leap forward.
"I don't think we
will be able to fight against Ferrari - unless they make a worse car
and that's unlikely to happen - but the aim is to start fighting
against everybody else."
After five campaigns
with B.A.R, Villeneuve's long contract with the team is up for
renegotiation at the end of 2003 - a fact that is strengthening his
desire for more success.
