Villeneuve waiting for luck to change

Jacques Villeneuve is frustrated by the ongoing problems and mechanical failures he's experienced this year but is hoping his luck will change. BAR does appear more competitive this season but Villeneuve hasn't had much of a chance to take advantage of the team's better performance.

"The car is much more competitive than it was in previous years but we've had too many mechanical failures. Things that have never broken in the past on any car suddenly break on mine -- so that's been very frustrating and annoying."

The Canadian just hopes things will improve: "All I can do is keep driving hard and giving everything I have so I'll be there when the luck changes."
Villeneuve is not concerned that his qualifying performances have seemed not so great and is happy with his strategy on Saturdays: "I'm comfortable with that," he remarked. "The problem is that I haven't been able to take full advantage of this strategy in the races because sometimes I stop on lap seven! So you end up looking stupid for a bad qualifying performance and that hurts."
He's not about to change his plans in order to look better in qualifying: "I want to stick to what is the best for the overall end result," he stated. "I don't want to look like a hero on Saturday; what I want is to do the best work for what will bring the better result on Sunday."
