Honda ace prepares for exciting one lap 'Banzai' attacks on Saturday
afternoons
|
|
|
|
2003.01.29 The introduction of an exciting new
one-shot qualifying format is all set to revolutionise Saturday
afternoons. In the past, a driver had a total of 12 laps to set his
best grid time. However, in an effort to spice up Sunday's starting
grids, the 2003 regulations now only permit each driver one dramatic
'all or nothing' flying lap. >>>>

The past few years have been tough
for Jacques Villeneuve. He is used to winning, but it's been awhile
since he stood on the top step of the podium.

|
|
2003.01.27 Villeneuve won the Indianapolis 500 and the CART championship in
1995 and then moved to Formula One with the Williams-Renault team in
1996. In his first F1 season, he won four Grands Prix and finished
second in the points behind teammate Damon Hill. In 1997, Villeneuve
won seven races and 10 poles on his way to becoming World Champion. >>>>

2003.01.14 Lucky Strike B.A.R Honda unveiled its
eagerly anticipated 2003 Grand Prix contender today (Tuesday) in
Barcelona, Spain. Under the guidance of new Technical Director,
Geoffrey Willis, the all-new B.A.R Honda 005 is significantly
smaller, lighter, has a lower center of gravity and is more
aerodynamically efficient than its 004 predecessor. Over the past
year the team has made a huge effort to dramatically improve
engineering standards and to lift its performance levels and Team
Principal David Richards voiced cautious optimism at today's launch.

2003.01.14 The newly launched BAR005 is the
first car to be designed since new boss David Richards overhauled
the British American Racing squad at the beginning of last year and
as such there is a lot of hope in the team this year. The car will
be driven by former world champion Jacques Villeneuve and rising
British star Jenson Button and the chassis has been designed by

Panis respects quick Villeneuve

2002.01.08 Toyota driver Olivier Panis has praised
his former team mate at BAR, saying Jacques Villeneuve is maybe even
better now than in the past. Panis partnered Villeneuve for two
years and thinks Jenson Button, who took over Panis' race seat at
BAR, is good, but not tough enough for the Canadian former champion.
