This was our first meeting. It was attended by Chuck, Daryl, Richard, Alain, Martin and Jamie.
We started right off by playing some easy tunes. After a little while, we took a break and
concentrated on maintenance.

For our third get-together, we decided to meet at Hurley's Irish Pub in Montreal. Attending
this time were Richard, Alain, Patrick and Jamie. Also attending was Sarah, who plays Scottish
highland and smallpipes. Sarah wanted to try out a set of Uilleann pipes to see if was something
she wanted to take on. We all took turns trying out each other's sets, as well as trying a half-set
that had been made by the late Chris Langan, that Richard had brought along. We played lots of tunes
and took a break to have a hearty Hurley's lunch, then more tunes.

This meeting took place at Wesley United Church, and was attended by Alain, Chuck, Richard,
Daryl, Patrick and Jamie. We took some time to preview Richard's copy of the new NPU Reedmaking DVD
and we also watched some video that Daryl had taken at the recent Chris Langan Weekend. We took some
time to work on tunes, and also spent some time tweaking reeds. Daryl also worked with Chuck on reedmaking.

The club met at the Kirk Hall in Quebec City - the first such meeting. In attendance were
Richard, Daryl, Alain, Christophe, Lucas and Patrick. In addition, pipemaker Nick Whitmer
made the long journey from Ithaca, NY. The morning workshop drew a few non-uilleann pipers.
A hearty lunch in Vieux Québec was followed by an afternoon session in the sunshine outside
the Kirk Hall. That drew a crowd of on-lookers. In addition to uilleann pipes, we were joined
by three Scottish small pipes, two Great Highland pipes, Border pipes and Northumbrian small
pipes. Following the afternoon session, a few hard-core pipers adjourned to Nelligan's Pub
for pints and a final squeeze of the bag!! Thanks to all for participating, particularly those
who had to travel long distances to attend. We're currently talking about holding a meeting in
Montreal for late June or early July. An other meeting is being planned for the Eastern Townships
in the Autumn.
