If theology is to accept a construct of religion as being
about what is real and important in life, then it must seek an honesty in
its own reflections that acknowledges its beginning in the middle of experience.
In the middle of experience, theology will be buffeted about by the forces
of incorrigibility that act upon it. This is not only its beginning but it
is also its task.
