The Index volume of Mythology of All Races, and a copy of The Golden Bough [also available on-line with a Search] have been placed on reserve so that you can just ask the librarians to hand it to you - for in-library use only.

If those old books cite a text eg The Iliad or Elder Edda, learn from my fun with Beowulf and check it out.
• After you have checked all 12 vols. and the many Joseph Campbell books (see his name under 'author' in the library's computer index)  then the hunt is REALLY on!
• Visit BL upstairs, then various scriptures in the religions [To search our own Judeo-Christian mythology, use a concordance to find things in the Bible. Do you know how to refer to/cite various scriptures?
• Then visit geographic/cultural areas.
• Mythology books are kept in other sections of the library (besides the reference section on the 2nd floor and the Mythology section in BL on the 3rd floor).  Look at the different religions, also geographical regions, too esp. true for myths of aboriginal American peoples & Europe - Slavic, Celtic, etc.
