Impact of the project
Results of
this study will allow to identify the best non-invasive methods for
detecting and grading hepatic steatosis. The risks (infections, dead)
and discomforts (pain, period of prolonged rest) associated with biopsy
would be consequently eliminated. Moreover, the gradation of the
percentage of steatosis would be more precise since the sample of
measurement is a volume of liver much larger than the one used at the
time of biopsy. This clinical research protocol would give
place to a notable improvement compared to the methods of traditional
detection. It would also constitute a base for applications to other
diagnoses which require biopsy.
