News from Maelstrom prime!

[December 16th 2003]
- OK, I know, it's AGAIN been more than a month since I've updated the site. There as been no other battle in the campaign since the begining of october, and I don't know when or even if there will be another battle. I guess this site won't be updated again for a while (if it ever does get updated).

[October 27th 2003]
- OK, I know, it's been more than a month since I've updated the site, and since the forum isn't used at all I guess nobody comes here much. But hey, the campaign isn't dead yet, so I've just posted a battle report (that should have been posted last month) about a battle fought between the necrons and the stone fists on the 7th of october. We have no preattle for this one (but a short intro was added in the report).
- There is another battle that took place on the 9th of october between the tyranids and the Tau. That battle report isn't ready yet, but should be there next week. I do intent to restart updating this site more often.

[September 15th 2003]
- I've remodeled the battle report section.
- I've also added the prebattle report for the first necron battle. It took place on september 11th, and was won by the Tau. Check out the battle report page, the prebattle story is there, the battle report should be there by the end of the week.

[September 5th 2003]
- I've added a battle report in the battle report page. It is the battle of august 26th.
- I've also added the armies of Maelstrom page. It is not complete yet, and you only have a summary of the armies, but evenualy you will have special characters and special units that are used on Maelstrom by each army (with pictures)
- The History of Maelstrom page is also up, it is far from complete as every point will be detailed, but it gives a good idea of the way things are in the system.

[September 4th 2003]
- I'm making big changes on the site. Notably in the menu section. there are still pages under construction, but they'll have to wait for I have a battle report to write. I've removed the huge pdf file with the information on the system, and split it in smaller subsections. It should be better this way for those of you who don't have a fast access.

[August 28th 2003]
- I've added the strategic briefing in the menu. It includes information about the invasion up to august 4th. You can also get it here.
It includes maps and data about the various factions.
- Yestersdays game was peculiar. It is again a victory for the Tau, but less than 25% of losses on each side. The final score is 228 for the Tau, 180 for the tyranids. I will try to make the battle report over the weekend.

[August 27th 2003]
- A new prebattle report is out. A simple patrol mission, Tau vs Tyranids. With a bit of luck, we might yet see a Tyranid victory. - I've had news of the system status, and should be able to publish that document tomorrow. - As told previously, the spacemarine player didn't finish his battle report before leaving on his honeymoon. Let's hope he doesn't forget too many details in the report because he didn't take notes...

[August 14th 2003]
- I've Updated the battle summary page. I've added a new counter for the necrons (yes the earthquake in the spaceport scenario has awakened some terrible evil...). I don't know if they will play often for I have the firm intent to keep the tyranids my main army.
- There will probably soon be another army joining the fray. after all 5 armies raging battle on the same planet cannot escape the attention of the great unclean one... So a Nurgle army is in the making.
- The Battle report for the space marine encounter of last friday isn't done yet, and I fear that it may not be finished before the writter leaves on vacation. It may have to wait another 3 weeks. I hope not, but it is out of my control.

[August 12th 2003]
- I've got a first draft of the battle report for the battle of the 29th of july, but it is too short for my taste (only two pages)... I will work on it again this week.
- There was also another battle last friday where the stone fists battled the crimson tides. It ended in a draw, but I look foward to the battle report. I hope to have it this week. I'll update the counters tonight or tomorow morning.
- After rereading the battle report, I haven't found anything much to add. So I will publish it with it's little two pages.

[July 30th 2003]
- I've published another prebattle report. The battle took place yesterday. And it is another victory for the Tau. At this rythm, there won't be a single tyranid left from Hive fleet Gaudrovich on Maelstrom prime soon. Fortunatly, even if Tau win every single battle, the Tyranids are far from defeated. The Complete battle report should be on the site by the end of next week.

[July 24th 2003]
- The battle report for the game of june 5th is finaly online. The best to date. 11 page of pure delight. And we get a first glance at how a hive tyrant thinks... It's entitled Terror in the night. I've put it in it's chronological place in the menu, but you can have it here.

- I've change the forum completly. It has a lot less publicity in it. Feel free to post as much as you like.

- The forum is down, I don't know for how long. It is a free service that I use over which I have no control. They seem to be upgrading their site, with a it of luck it shoudn't be too long.

[July 8th 2003]
- Ok, here is the report for the battle of july 1st: Spaceport. The big four way battle. It was a real nice game. It was a cleanse, 1000 points per sides (so 4000 points on the map) and it finished in a tie, no one had any uncontested quarter. We had to end it before the end, it lasted 6 hours. During that time we completed 4 turns. We used Necromunda cover to simulate a landing zone of a space port.
- Some people left answered in the poll that they might be interested in joining our campaign. You should go to the forum to leave your opinion on how it should be done. For now, we have no campaign rules, we just play games and make up a story line around it. It is the easiest way we found so far. As Maelstrom Prime is a big planet, there are a number of continents on it and you could stage your games on one of those continent. Just write up a good story for it and I'll gladly publish it. Tau are easy to fit in, for it is a Tau colony after all, Necrons are also easy, ruins could have been dug out and and old necron site is revived. For the rest, make up a good story how your troops happen to be arround (see the Heretics story, it is a good exemple on how to introduce a new army).

[July 7th 2003]
- Ok, ok, I know I told ya that the reports would be up by sunday, but they are longer than anticipated. I've updated the counters, so now you can see the two space marine chapters that joined the campaign. I could tell you another day for the reports, but I'd just be guessing again. They'll be up soon.
- First report up. It's only the prebattle report for the big four party battle we had on july 1st (Yeah I know prebattle reports are suposed to be before a battle it's a PREbattle... but I needed info on other player's armies.) So enjoy, I'll try to post more stuff before friday. I've also inverted the reports so that the newest reports are on top.

[July 2nd 2003]
- Quick update, just to keep you posted... Yes the rumors are confirmed. Not one, but two distinct space marine fleets have entered the system. There was a quick 4 army battle yesterday that ended prematurly in a draw.
- The last battle report, is not completed yet, but with a bit of luck and free time, you should see that report by sunday AND the pre-battle report for yesterday's battle AND yesterday's battle report. We're just getting the story straight, as the poll show some outsiders might want to join the campaign, so it might be good to have a deeper story to be able to graft other's battle to it.
- The score board isn't updated yet, I might have the time to do it tonight, but one thing is sure, it was a nice battle, tied up in the end, but not by much. Any army could have won with just a bit of luck. I won't say much right now, you'll have to wait for the battle report, but it was a 4 party cleanse, and every quarter were contested by only 1 unit.

[June 19th 2003]
- The battle report isn't finished yet. Sorry about that. This is just a quick update to let you know that we're planning another game on july 1st. We expect to see a space marine landing at that time. Basicaly the game will be a three party royal rumble.
- I'm working on a larger storyline that may help us include other games in our campaign. If you fell like it you migth drop an idea or two in the forum. Anything that can help me get my inspiration going.

[June 6th 2003]
- Ok Ok, yet another defeat for the Tyranids. It was a close one, but a defeat anyway... The battle report will follow before next week.
- I've added a poll option at the bottom of the left menu.

- I've added a pre-battle report. The scenario will be an ambush made by the Tau against the Tyranids. A night fight with 1500 points. The game itself will take place june 5th at 18h30. We'll keep you posted on the result.
