Bruno Pelletier, a Québecois who sang in English bands for awhile in Montréal before finding his niche with Francophone groups. He's mostly known for his musical theatre -- comedie musicale -- roles, most notably Notre-Dame de Paris. I haven't attended many concerts but I saw him with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra in 2002 and he was amazing.

This is another favourite of mine. Mario Lanza, and although not as technically inclined as opera singers, he made up for it with the most romantic singing that I've ever heard. Audio sample: Golden Days

Another great singer is this man, Andrea Bocelli. Some people are critical in the opera world but he has a combination of talents. His singing style is a mix of classical and popular music and this is one of the reasons why he's so appealing to so many people. He was injured in a soccer (European football) match and became blind. Here's a website devoted to him: The Andrea Bocelli Fan Website

My favourite tenor of all time is Jussi Björling (1911-1960). What a voice he had and I know that he's singing wherever he is now. There's lots of information on him available online, search and you shall find it, although I haven't found the perfect website on him.
