| Picture #1: Be sure your car is properly supported. You will be pulling, pushing, twisting and shaking a lot while you are under the car trying to remove the clamps. (I know, the hydraulic jack looks like the Pisa tower but it isn't). |
Picture #2: Here one of the clamps (sorry for the out of focus picture!). Some says it is very easy to remove the bolts with a lot of "PB blaster". I've used "Liquid wrench", may be not enough or didin't wait enough but I've managed to remove only one bolt.
New bolt size is 13mm but the old ones are more 1/2 inch (more or less). |

| Picture #3: What a wonderfull tool! Didn't use it often but when I did, it was the only easy way to go. |
Picture #4: I've cut the bracket in half. I had a very hard time removing it even with a hammer and a screwdriver/pry bar. Cutting along the green lines would have been a lot easier. The metal is soft and easy to cut. Even with one bolt off, it was impossible to remove the clamp. |

| Picture #5: I took the chance to paint all the pipes and clamps to try to withstand rust as much as possible. It won't stop the corrosion from the inside of the pipes but I think that overall this is a plus. Make sure you have a high temp paint for exhaust pipes. |
Picture #6: Here the painted clamps. I've put some lithium grease on the bolts threads. Note that the bolts in the picture, are screwed on the wrong side of the clamp and that they must go throught the other clamp first (well, you will figure soon enough...) |
