It has been a while since the last formal update so here is a roundup/update of the latest news:
- Moonlight's Sparse File Support (MSFS):
My rewrite is complete and works substantially more smoothly than my previous implementation. The new implementation will be included in the next Moonlight's Mod (Upcoming build: 0.42b-0.22g, 2004-03-03) once the next stock mule comes out, presumably 0.30d. I have not yet re-tested simultaneous file download and sparse scanning though, so it may still be disabled on 'active' (non-paused/stopped) files. - Moonlight's Save Upload Queue Wait Time (MSUQWT, last updated: 2004-02-04):
I am happy to report that my Moonlight's Save Upload Queue Wait Time (MSUQWT, last updated: 2004-02-04) feature is practically complete now. Many modders have expressed interest in the feature or have already integrated it. They pointed out a few glitches to iron out, mostly due to me relying on overflows to produce correct results where some bits of code treat it as an error condition. There may be more glitches of that nature lying around waiting to be discovered but the essential stuff is working very well. - DynRec:
This is my latest eMule modding project. After receiving comments about Moonlight's Save Upload Queue Wait Time (MSUQWT, last updated: 2004-02-04) and how it breaks compatibility with the stock client, I decided to start writing a generic file format loader/writer so modders and devs would no longer have to worry about breaking the file formats whenever they wish to add something to it or change a sub-record's structure.
- Status: discontinued since someone else took care of it and I have no time to reinvent the wheel.
- Moonlight's Adaptive Fragment System (MAFS):
My core rewrite was finished a few days ago and I started working on some support functions to help line up my ideas for the tree insertion implementation - yup, I still have not finished writing it... in fact, it is still in skeleton code form while I am finishing the support functions and figuring out exactly how I should implement it. The most I can say is that I am quite happy with the rewritten implementation of what I had done so far... much closer to the implementation structure 'neatness' level I initially had in mind. - Moonlight's Mod (Upcoming build: 0.42b-0.22g, 2004-03-03): (Newest build: eMule0.42b-Moonlight0.22g, 2004-03-03)
New build and changed sources zip, go see Moonlight's Mod (Upcoming build: 0.42b-0.22g, 2004-03-03) for the details.
