Letter to the Clerk of the adoption’s Registry of the Youth Court:

(name of town removed), April 30th 2001

Registered mail, without prejudice

Cour du Québec - Chambre de la jeunesse – Greffe de l’adoption
Ms. Claude Meunier, greffière
410, rue de Bellechasse Est
Montréal, Québec H2S 1X3

Ms. Meunier,

Considering that the intent of the adoption disclosure laws, was to protect the identity of  biological parents,

Considering that, generally speaking, Court orders and the contents of judiciary records are public records. (for ex. Divorce records),

Considering the disparity in the non-identifying background summaries from one Youth Center to another,

Considering that article 131.1 of the Youth Act, does not state precisely how the non-identifying background summaries are to be presented,

I am requesting a complete copy of all my adoption record and adoption order held at the Youth Court, without the Birthparents identifying information.

I want to have a complete copy, without the Birthparents identifying information, of all the documents found in my records and I want to obtain a letter signed by a judge certifying that I have effectively received a copy of all the documents from my records.

Therefore, I formally request that these documents be sent to me in the prescribed time limits.

If my request is rejected, I will use all legal options available to obtain my documents.

Yours truly,

André Desaulniers (date of birth: September second, 1964, Court Order from la Cour du Bien-Être Social, District of Montréal, no.954/72)
