-
Started learning programming in january 97.
-
Big batters Night (baseball): First attempt and it never came threw! I
was using BorlandC++ and some librarys I found on the net.
-
Orgy of Blood: This game is my first one. In my oppinion it is a lot crappy
but you must start somewhere! This game was made this summer and marked
my change from BorlandC++ to DJGPP and Allegro.
-
Started a game called Wars. This game would be a combo of rpg and ship
game.
-
Learned some Java and made Pain a game that would be played from the net
with a browser. The performances is far from par.
-
Translated the Java code to C++ and Allegro. It was a quick port
and I didn't took time to convert my images so they have a wacky look.
The game is about 50 times faster so I included a speed option to slow
it down! The game is little and bad but it's because I aimed it to be runnable
on the net.
-
Dropped Wars because the game was going in a bad direction.
-
Decided the make a new project called "A day in the life" who would be
small and addictive and that would use lotsa special effects. This is the
direction I currently think is the best.
-
The project "A day int the life" as now become clearer and its Kung Fu
Fest with Bruce Lee!
-
Completed the first game that I can be proud of (KungFu fest with Bruce
Lee) on december 23rd of 97.
-
Began working at Matrox Imaging (trainee).
-
I will expand the game KungFu Fest in the future: The game will now be
3 game in 1: I will add a Stratego mode (like Panzer General) and a Life
mode (You build the life of your Bruce Lee by feeding him and by making
him tough by training...kind of a really friendly game). I wiill also be
adding a 320x100 resolution and a 1/4view plus the option to drop the frame
rate; this should enable everyone to enjoy the game without slow down.
I will also find some background for stage2&3(they are presently the
same as stage1). I intend to complete it for summer ('98).
-
Will stay at Matrox for another session (till Automn).
-
Retouched Pain DOS so the graphics stop to make me sick (I used KungFu
Fest's palette). I also limit the game speed (it's still unplayable at
the Fast speed mode!). Corrected a bug in the contact detection.
-
KungFu Fest 2 was out on 7/6/98... The Stratego chapter is the most complex
game I ever made and it's good in my oppinion (good enough to be played
seriously).
-
I'm gonna play KungFu Fest 2 to spot if there's still some bug and to increase
the AI (enventough it's better that I imagined) and I'll have to think
of a new game and decide on which platform to do it (DOS or Win32). Basketball
is a game I like to play both in real life (with my wicked hook shoot and
smooth fadeaway!) and on game console's. NBA Jam would be the type of game
that I would love to create. I would add a managing/builder/trades dialog
to it and it could be fun. I would also like to add some sort of internet
support to Stratego but I have no knowledge in networks and I imagine that
it's probably hell on earth to debug (two pc's + phone lines + internet
connections should be required).
-
KungFu Fest 3 was out on 26/10/98... I added lots of video clips which
helps the game's look. The new chapter is nammed 3d Shooting and it's quite
good. You shoot by aiming with the mouse and by mooving with the keypad.
The hit detection itself is pixel perfect which is a big deal compared
to Pain (another shooting game) which used rectangle areas. I could not
figure the bug in the 3d view but if I ever find it I'll release it as
a new version(3.1).
-
I am currently writing a Windows DirectX game (with MFC). It's gonna be
called SEBQUEST. It's really great to be back with the debugger of VisualC++
because large projects like Kungfu Fest Strategic and 3D were tough to
debug without one.
-
Created OpenGui in september 1999. Made numerous bugs corrections and improvments
from that time until now january y2k. Also made a dialog editor which generates
OpenGui code!
-
Ported OpenGui to Glut/OpenGL.
-
I have finished a OpenGL 3d shooter game uses GlutGui. I will be soon looking
for work to become a game programmer so if someone got something for me
please let me know. The following link is my resume: RESUME.
There is also a more formal Word doc format available: resume.doc.
-
I have found a job at Microids (game company in Canada) and started working there in august (2000).
I have also started another game which I work on at a very slow rate (got not that much free time to do so).
