Robert L. Lachance now has more than 30 years of professional experience in photography. As a freelancer, he has illustrated articles in major magazines such as Châtelaine, Québec Vacances, Le Magazine de la Place des Arts, Allure and Globe Trotter. In this last instance, a lengthy article was published on bicycling in Holland. He also contributed to many annual reports for firms such as Winpack and the Montreal Urban Community.
His professional experience was acquired in a few Montreal studios and in the Laurentians region. Back in Montreal, he was photographer then chief photographer for the municipal civil services during twenty years.
All through this period, he has maintained a passion for travel photography. A dozen countries and more than thirty cities were photographed and constitute the main body of his stock file of more than 8,000 images.
His images favor local colour and human interest. Powerful landscapes were shot and many major events were documented.
