The installation of the neck is one
of the most significant steps of the kit in addition to requiring much precision.
If you are making a mistake in the installation of the neck, the guitar could
be unplayable. When time came to install the neck on my guitar, I realized
that the angle formed by the soundboard and the guitar sides at the neck joint
position was not 90 degrees. In fact, the angle was several degrees lower
than 90 degrees. I solved this problem by inserting a shim board between the
guitar sides and the neck heel. To avoid this kind of mistake, it is very
important to make sure throughout the assembly of the guitar kit that the
soundboard and the guitar sides are squareness.
