In addition to being decorative, the
soundhole purflings are used to reinforce the zone which surrounds the soundhole.
One of the first step of the kit was to install the laminated plastic soundhole
purflings strips in the inner and outer purfling channels routed into the
guitar soundboard by the Stewmac’s staff. Once the purfling glued, I scraped
the binding flush to the surface of the soundboard.
