This step
is a moment very exciting, because the guitar starts to take form for the
first time. Before gluing the soundboard, notches must be made in the kerfed
linings to accept the ends of the soundboard bracing. The left picture shows
an example of notches which were made to accept the ends of the bracing
located on the inside face of the back of the guitar. Thereafter, using
homemade clamps (see the picture located to the right), I put in place and
glued the soundboard. This way of attaching the soundboard is usually used
by violin makers.
