Attaching The Soundboard

This step is a moment very exciting, because the guitar starts to take form for the first time. Before gluing the soundboard, notches must be made in the kerfed linings to accept the ends of the soundboard bracing. The left picture shows an example of notches which were made to accept the ends of the bracing located on the inside face of the back of the guitar. Thereafter, using homemade clamps (see the picture located to the right), I put in place and glued the soundboard. This way of attaching the soundboard is usually used by violin makers.
