Recorded at Sunpu-kaikan, Shizuoka, Japan on 29/10/75.

Eyesight To The Blind & Carnival

"So Many Roads" (15-minute version ) is incorrectly listed as "Stormy Monday" and "Keep On
Growing" and "Teach Me To Be Your Woman" are listed, but do not appear on the CD. EC
breaks into a mock Japanese accent on several occasions during the show, saying such things as
"Herro", and introducing a "robrey rady . . . Marcy Revy"! (R.B.)

"First Day" - Slunky - 10A/B - 4

Knockin' On Heaven's Door (same rendition) inadvertently appears as track 1 and track 2 on CD2.

Others might consider 4 to be a bit high for this somewhat muddy audience recording, but: (a) the mix is balanced and (b) the audience is never intrusive. (P.W.)

indeed a CD version? (R.B.)

This show appears to have been a "King Biscuit" show at one time.

The recording quality is somewhat uneven on this CD. Overall it is excellent for an audience
recording of this era. The instruments are very closeup for much of it, but the vocals are a little
further back. Unfortunately, there are tracks of poorer quality (All Our Past Times). (R.B.)

Hello Old Friend/Sign Language/Black Summer Rain/Carnival/Tenho Sede/
Last Night/Beautiful Thing/Hungry/All Our Past Times/County Jail/Double Trouble

The large number of guests that appeared on "No Reason To Cry", such as
Bob Dylan, Ronnie Wood, Georgie Fame and Robbie Robertson leads me to believe that at least
some of them appear on this CD, but until this is confirmed, I have omitted them from the band
lineup. It has also been suggested that "No Reason to Cry" sessions features remarkably little new
material, with so-called outtakes being limited to a few extra seconds of intro/outro on most
tracks. (J.M.)

Nice clear sb but from obvious analog tape, with prominent hiss and some minor wow and
flutter. Although this is the only release featuring "Tenho Sede", it is curiously omitted from the
set list on the jewel case inserts! (M.D.)

For the guest appearances see above at "Happy,
Happy Birthday Eric!" - Dandelion - DL017 - sb6 and
"The Slowhand Masterfile - Part 4: No Reason To Cry
Sessions" - Antrabata -P4SL650-1/2 -sb5 (R.B.)

Please note that this CD includes "Tenho Sede", which is unavailable on any other ligitimate or
bootleg CD. (R.B.)

Have You Ever Loved A Woman/Tell The Truth/Eyesight To The Blind/Smile(2)/
Let It Grow(2)/Can't Find My Way Home(vocals: Y. Elliman)(2)

The sound quality is not as bad as the rating would suggest. The recording of the instruments is not bad, but the vocals are faint. The songs are more instrumental than vocal in many cases and the instruments are quite well recorded, so the weakness is easily overcome. (R.B.)
