"nobody likes" 45
Near as I can figure, Stickers On Fruit were formed in the 80s in Yeovil-Upon-Fowey, UK by two brothers calling themselves Johnny Pear and Johnny Apple. Terrorising the local pub with their stripped-down minimal punk for years, they released a few singles which virtually vanished into obscurity. Little else is known about them.
The 45 RPM record pictured here is a miraculously mint condition treasure found in a garage sale whilst vacationing in England. Also found was a yellowed local newspaper clipping with a review of the single:
"Positively horrid. If this duo practised very hard, they would still suck. We can only assume that
the guitarist was so bad that he refrained from playing, making this an a cappella punk record.
A total waste of 5 minutes of my life. I do not like stickers on fruit. -- Thomas J. Farthington"
