There isa jackmanii clematis growing abondantly in front of the garden house. I used to tie the clematis to the fence. It always dried up and died around the middle of the summer. I gave up and let it go. To my surprise, it florished climbing on the rasberry bushes next to it. Did the dark fence become too hot for it to survive?

I now have purple flowering rasberry bushes! I get a lot of question about them.
